A. Benites-Palomino et al. 2020‘Scaphokogiinae’ refers to the node-based clade defined by the last common ancestor of Scaphokogia cochlearis, Scaphokogia totajpe, the undescribed kogiid MUMS 3405, and all other taxa more closely related to them than to Kogia breviceps.
