Taxonomy
Huracan qiui was named by Jiangzuo et al. (2023). Its type specimen is HMV 2005, (a nearly complete skull with little deformation (fig. 17), collected by local villagers from the Wangjiashan fossil locality, which yields the Qingbushan Fauna) and is a 3D body fossil.
