Simocetus rayi
Taxonomy
Simocetus rayi was named by Fordyce (2002). Its type specimen is USNM 256517, a skull (skull & partial skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Emlong 718, which is in a Rupelian marine siltstone in the Alsea Formation of Oregon. It is the type species of Simocetus.
