Taxonomy
Miolabis fricki was named by Kelly (1992). Its type specimen is LACM 131796, a partial skeleton (Skull and associated partial skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACM 5996, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Caliente Formation of California.
