Taxonomy
Dipterocarpoxylon garoense was named by Chowdhury (1938). It is not extant. Its type locality is Garobadha, Garo Hills, which is in a Miocene fluvial horizon in India.
It was recombined as Anisopteroxylon garoense by Prakash and Tripathi (1970) and Lakhanpal et al. (1976).
