Caenocidaris is a genus. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Psychocidaridae by Fell (1966); to Cidaroida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Paracidaridae by Smith (2015).

Synonyms
  • Cidaris yeovilensis was named by Wright (1858). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yeovil (Yeovil Sands), which is in a Toarcian marine sandstone in the Bridport Sand Formation of the United Kingdom.

    It was considered a nomen dubium by Smith (2015).
