Desmatochelys lowii
Taxonomy
Desmatochelys lowii was named by Williston (1894). Its type specimen is KUVP 1200, a partial skeleton (Skull, some limb bones and parts of the shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is near Fairbury (Desmatochelys type locality), which is in a Cretaceous marine horizon in the Benton Shale Formation of Nebraska. It is the type species of Desmatochelys.
