Hesperornis rossicus

Taxonomy
Hesperornis rossica was named by Nessov and Yarkov (1993). Its type specimen is VPM 26306/2, a limb element (proximal portion of right tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rychkovo (right shore of Tzimlyanskoe Reservoir), which is in a Campanian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.

It was corrected as Hesperornis rossicus by Kurochkin (2000) and Rees and Lindgren (2005).
