It was Pecten (Placopecten) by Dall (1898); it was reranked as Placopecten by Ward (1992), Sepkoski (2002) and Rosenberg (2005).

It was assigned to Pecten by Dall (1898); to Chlamys by Verrill (1897), Gardner (1943) and Hassan (1953); to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pectinidae by Ward (1992) and Rosenberg (2005).
