When: Dorothea Formation, Late/Upper Maastrichtian (70.6 - 66.0 Ma)

• The age of this unit was assigned to the late Campanian–Maastrichtian based on marine invertebrates (Pérez and Reyes, 1978), although, additional evidence based on microfossils (Martinez-Pardo, 1965) as well radioisotopic dates (Hervé et al., 2004) supports an upper Maastrichtian age.
