• The lower Pliocene deposits here overlie upper Messinian carbonates and volcanic Miocene rocks.

Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; shelly/skeletal limestone

• The section consists of up to 1.5 m of well-cemented bioclastic carbonates mixed with terrigenous sands and pebbles
