• Has previously been assigned to the McNairy Sand, within the Ripley Formation, but this is uncertain, and most authors consider the bed to be an unnamed smectite clay unit overlapping in age with the Coffee Sand, Mooreville Chalk, and Blufftown formations, and local in extent.
