Taxonomy
Arca tambacana was named by Martin (1883) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene-Pliocene; Indonesia, Pakistan.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Arca (Arca) tambacana by Oostingh (1935); it was recombined as Anadara (Anadara) tambacana by Skwarko (1994) and van den Hoek Ostende et al. (2002).
