Apterodon saghensis

Taxonomy
Apterodon saghensis was named by Simons and Gingerich (1976). Its type specimen is CGM 40006, a mandible (a left mandible with the root of the lower canine, the crowns of P2-4> and the damaged crown of Mi), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Qasr el-Sagha Loc., which is in a Priabonian marine shale/sandstone in the Qasr el-Sagha Formation of Egypt.
