Microsyopoidea is a superfamily. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Primates by Gunnell (1989); and to Plesiadapiformes by Hooker et al. (1999).

Synonyms
  • Plesiadapis orsmaelensis was named by Teilhard de Chardin (1927). Its type specimen is IRSNM 1428, a tooth (incisor), and it is a 3D body fossil.

    It was recombined as Platychaerops orsmaelensis by Hill (1953); it was considered a nomen dubium by Gingerich (1976).
