Retispira texana
Taxonomy
Knightites (Retispira) texana was named by Yochelson (1960). Its type specimen is AMNH 28191, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AMNH512, Guadalupe Pass, Guadalupe Mountains, which is in a Roadian slope limestone in the Cherry Canyon Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Retispira texana by Pan and Erwin (2002) and Pinilla and Sabattini (2013).
