Cebinae is a subfamily. It is extant. It was considered monophyletic by Opazo et al. (2006).

It was assigned to Cebidae by Hershkovitz (1974), Rosenberger et al. (1991), Wilson and Reeder (2005), Opazo et al. (2006) and Tejedor et al. (2006).
