Taxonomy
Eucochlis withnalli was named by Cook and Nützel (2005). Its type specimen is QMF 41909, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is QML 1092, 500 m northwest of type section creek for Dosey Limestone, which is in a Givetian marine mudstone in the Papilio Mudstone Formation of Australia.
