Taxonomy
Ophiura substriata was named by Rasmussen (1950). It is not extant. Its type specimen is BMNH E.13116.

It was recombined as Ophioderma substriata by Kutscher (1998) and Jagt and Kutscher (1998); it was recombined as Ophioderma substriatum by Helm et al. (1999), Jagt (2000) and Storc and Zitt (2008).
