Taxonomy
Loxonema delphicola was named by Hall (1860). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Palaeozygopleura (Palaeozygopleura) delphicola by Horný (1955); it was recombined as Palaeozygopleura delphicola by Rollins et al. (1971), Linsley (1994) and Wagner (2023).
