Pachytesta hoskinsii was named by Taylor (1965) [Type locality locality is Sahara MIne, Herrin No. 6, Illinois and consists of slides and peels]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is aleobotanical Collection Dept. of Botany UIC CB 6166.
