Distichomeandra was named by Cuif (1976) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-l Tr Rhae Sepkoski's reference number: 919]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Margarophylliidae by Stanley and Senowbari-Daryan (1999) and Roniewicz and Stanley (2013).
