Squalodon antverpiensis antverpiensis was named by Rothausen (1968) [Kellogg (1923) states that the specimen is in the Musee Royal d'Histoire Naturelle de Belgique, Brussels, Belgium. Van Beneden (1861) names the species Squalodon antverpiensis, and Rothausen (1968) makes the subspecies.]. Its type specimen is IRSNB CT. M. 517 2 T, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil.
