Taxonomy
Ammonites sesquinodosus was named by Fontannes (1876). It is not extant. Its type specimen is UCBL-FSL 12908. Its type locality is Montagne de Crussol (Ardèche) region, which is in a Kimmeridgian marine carbonate/marl in France.
It was recombined as Aspidoceras sesquinodosum by Bantz (1970).
