Leptochoerus emilyae was named by Edwards (1976). Its type specimen is KU 9226, a maxilla (Partial left maxillary with p2-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil.

P. Edwards 1976The P2/ is single-cusped with minute anter- ior and posterior accessory cusps appearing as slight pointed shoulders as in L. spectabilis. The P3/ is tri-cusped with a lingual deuterocone as in L. elegans.
