Taxonomy
Ischyromys brevidens was named by Korth et al. (2022). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SDSM 155929, 156085, a tooth. Its type locality is Arner Ranch ant mounds, which is in a Chadronian/Orellan terrestrial horizon in the Chadron Formation of Nebraska.
