Taxonomy
Tapes laciniata was named by Carpenter (1864). It is extant.

It was corrected as Tapes laciniatus by Chace and Chace (1919); it was recombined as Protothaca laciniata by Durham and Addicott (1965); it was recombined as Leukoma laciniata by Coan and Valentich-Scott (2012).
