Celtencrinurus praecursor

Taxonomy
Encrinurus praecursor was named by Tripp (1954). Its type specimen is A.3940a, b, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Craighead Quarry, which is in a Caradoc marine mudstone in the Craighead Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Celtencrinurus praecursor by Tripp (1980).

R. P. Tripp 1957Glabella broad posteriorly, strongly convex; frontallobe not more than half length ofglabella. Tubercle formula: 1-0; ll-III- 1, 2, 3; (iv-O); IV-1, 2, 3; (v-0); V-1, 2. Fixed cheeks sparsely tuberculate, with two large tubercles one behind the other.
