Azilestes ragei
Taxonomy
Azilestes ragei was named by Gheerbrant and Teodori (2021). Its type specimen is MNHN.F CTE 215, a mandible (fragment of left dentary with damaged M1 and M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Capens, Mas-d'Azil, which is in a Maastrichtian fluvial-deltaic sandstone in the Grès de Labarre Formation of France. It is the type species of Azilestes.
