Taxonomy
Calva (Egelicalva) spissa was named by Saul and Popenoe (1992). Its type specimen is LACMIP 8114 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP loc. 10769, Dry Creek, which is in a Turonian marine sandstone in the Redding Formation of California.
