Taxonomy
Cravenoceras hesperium was named by Miller and Furnish (1940).

It was recombined as Stenoglaphyrites hesperius by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971); it was recombined as Eosyngastrioceras hesperium by Titus (2000).
