Taxonomy
Patelloidea limnensis was named by Tasch (1961). Its type specimen is W.U. 300, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Jester Creek II, bed 9A, which is in an Artinskian lacustrine lime mudstone in the Wellington Formation of Kansas.
