Taxonomy
Nostoceras obtusum was named by Howarth (1965). Its type specimen is BMNH C. 52744, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Nostoceras (Didymoceras) obtusum by Küchler and Odin (2001).
