Taxonomy
Turbinolia jollaensis was named by Hanna (1927). Its type specimen is UCMP 31163 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 5091 Tecolote Creek, San Diego, which is in a Lutetian marine shale in the La Jolla Formation of California.
