Taxonomy
Isaster benguellensis was named by de Loriol (1888). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dombe-Grande (Couches à Schloenbachia inflata), which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in the Cabo Ledo Formation of Angola.
