Zeugophyllites elongatus was named by Morris (1845). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Phoenicopsis elongatus by Seward (1903) and Holmes (1982); it was recombined as Podozamites elongatus by Feistmantel (1951); it was recombined as Heidiphyllum elongatum by Retallack (1981) and Moisan et al. (2010).
