Taxonomy
Versispira contraria was named by Perner (1903). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Trubsko, which is in a Berounian transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone in the Letna Formation of the Czech Republic.

It was recombined as Scaevogyra (Versispira) contraria by Perner (1911).
