Klallamornis clarki

Taxonomy
Klallamornis clarki was named by Mayr and Goedert (2016). Its type specimen is LACM 129405, a limb element (left tarsometatarsus with restored lateral portion of trochlea metatarsi IV), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jansen Creek Mbr, Makah Fm - Jansen Creek, which is in a Bartonian/Chattian deep-water sandstone/conglomerate in the Makah Formation of Washington.

abashiriensis holotype. With the distal end of the femur of plo- topterids being subequal to the proximal width of the tarsometa- tarsus (Table 1), the holotypic tarsometatarsus (proximal width »43 mm) has a significantly larger size than expected for the unknown tarsometatarsus of Klallamornis abyssa, the distal femur of which has a width of »34 mm.
