Taxonomy
Sectisodon occultus was named by Morales and Pickford (2017). Its type specimen is UM NAP V 178’08, a tooth (right M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Napak (Napak Member), which is in a Burdigalian floodplain horizon in Uganda. It is the type species of Sectisodon.
