Taxonomy
Cupoides tessellatus was named by Motschulsky (1856). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Danziger Naturkundemuseum Menge collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
It was recombined as Priacma tessellata by de Peyerimhoff (1909); it was recombined as Cupes tessellatus by Kirejtshuk et al. (2016); it was recombined as Cupes tesselatus by Kirejtshuk (2005) and Kirejtshuk (2020).
