Taxonomy
Schizogliravus montisalbani was named by Freudenthal (2004). Its type specimen is MLB1D 1050, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Montalbán 1D, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in Spain. It is the type species of Schizogliravus.
