Taxonomy
Neurankylus notos was named by Lichtig and Lucas (2016). Its type specimen is NMMNH P-70008, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NMMNH L-9158, which is in a Coniacian/Santonian terrestrial horizon in the Crevasse Canyon Formation of New Mexico.
