Taxonomy
Boromys grandis was named by Dashzeveg (1990). Its type specimen is PSS 30-4, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khaichin Ula II [SMPE], which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Khaychin Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Euboromys, Boromys.
It was recombined as Euboromys grandis by Dashzeveg and McKenna (1991).
