Taxonomy
Aspidosaurus binasser was named by Berman and Lucas (2003). Its type specimen is TMM 43531, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lueders Fm. Locality 2, which is in an Artinskian/Kungurian shallow subtidal conglomerate in the Lueders Formation of Texas.
