Sphaerodactylus ciguapa
Taxonomy
Sphaerodactylus ciguapa was named by Daza and Bauer (2012). Its type specimen is MCZ R–186380, a partial skeleton (an amber-embedded skeletonized and articulated specimen preserving patches of integument, most of the left basicranium, the posterior part of the left jaw, part), and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber, La Toca (Work collection), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian fluvial-deltaic shale/amber in the El Mamey Formation of the Dominican Republic.
