Xaniognathus is a genus. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Xaniognathidae.
It was assigned to Xaniognathidae by Clark et al. (1981); to Conodontophorida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Gondolellidae by Plasencia et al. (2007).
