Archaeohyracotherium mediale
Taxonomy
Prohyracotherium medialis was named by Ameghino (1902). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Río Chico Oeste, which is in a Lutetian/Bartonian terrestrial horizon in Argentina. It is the type species of Archaeohyracotherium.
It was recombined as Archaeohyracotherium mediale by Simpson (1948).
