Anisograptus was named by Ruedemann (1937) [Sepkoski's age data: O Trem-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Anisograptus matanensis.
It was assigned to Dendroidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Anisograptidae by Cho et al. (2009) and Monteros and Moya (2011).
