Taxonomy
Bohlinosminthus cubitalus was named by Lopatin (1999). Its type specimen is IAUU, no. ALT 115, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Altynshokysu (bone bed II), which is in an Oligocene terrestrial claystone in the Aral Formation of Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Bohlinosminthus.
