Taxonomy
Oligacanchus damiaoense was named by Hong (1980). Its type specimen is North China Institute of Geological Sciences SIV-30/1904, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Nangou, Damiao, Chifeng County, which is in an Aptian terrestrial mudstone in China. It is the type species of Oligacanchus.
